Disclaimer

This document sets out the terms on which Greybox (“the Site”) is made available. It is a binding condition of access — please read it in full before browsing, searching, or playing anything on the Site.

Last updated 29 September 2026 Document v1.0 Applies to all visitors
01

Scope and Acceptance

This Disclaimer governs your access to and use of Greybox, including every page, search result, catalogue entry, embedded player, outbound link, and related feature made available through the Site (collectively, the “Service”). It operates alongside any other notices published on the Service and supersedes any prior statement addressing the same subject.

No account registration, click-wrap confirmation, or other affirmative act is required for this Disclaimer to take effect: it is enforceable from the moment you first load the Service. Your continued use following publication of any revised version constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of that version.

02

Nature of the Service

Greybox is an information aggregator and discovery tool. It indexes publicly available catalogue data and provides references — including hyperlinks — to material made available by independent third parties.

Greybox does not create, own, upload, publish, transmit, host, store, cache, encode, distribute, or serve any motion picture, television episode, audio recording, or other audiovisual work, and no such files are located on Greybox servers or systems at any time. Greybox is not a file-hosting service, a content delivery network, or a streaming provider, and it exercises no editorial control over the destination, contents, or legality of any link it indexes.

Nothing on the Service constitutes an offer, licence, or grant of rights in respect of any content, nor an assertion of ownership over it. All title, art, and content referenced by the Service remains the exclusive property of its respective rights holders.

03

Third-Party Sources and External Links

The Service may direct you to websites, players, streams, downloads, or other resources operated by third parties. Those resources are not under Greybox’s control. Greybox makes no representation, warranty, endorsement, or assurance as to their availability, accuracy, safety, legitimacy, quality, or compliance with any law.

The moment you leave the Service, your relationship is solely with that third party: its terms of use, privacy practices, licensing, advertising, and content are its own responsibility. You access third-party resources entirely at your own risk and discretion.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Greybox accepts no liability for any consequence of your access to, or reliance on, any third-party resource, including but not limited to data loss, device or software damage, exposure to malicious code, unexpected charges, or any breach of a third party’s terms committed by you.

04

Metadata, Trailers, and Attribution

All titles, posters, backdrops, logos, descriptions, ratings, cast data, and related metadata displayed on the Service are sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Trailers are embedded and delivered by YouTube and are governed exclusively by YouTube’s terms and policies.

Greybox claims no ownership of, and no affiliation, sponsorship, or partnership with, any metadata provider, studio, distributor, platform, or rights holder. The trademarks, service marks, logos, and copyrighted artwork that appear on the Service are used solely for identification and informational purposes, and remain the property of their respective owners; their appearance implies no endorsement of Greybox.

05

Embedded Players and Advertising

The Service may include embedded media players and advertising served by third-party networks. Embedded players request content directly from external sources and may set or read cookies, use local storage, and collect technical or device data under the relevant provider’s own policy. Greybox does not operate those players and does not control what they transmit.

Advertisements shown on Greybox are delivered by third-party advertisers and ad networks. Appearance of an advertisement is not an endorsement, recommendation, or verification by Greybox of any advertised product, service, or destination, and advertisements may link to sites governed by their own terms. Greybox does not control which creatives are served, what data those parties collect, or what any linked page contains.

06

No Warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” with no warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Greybox disclaims all warranties, including without limitation implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, availability, and freedom from errors, viruses, or other harmful components.

Greybox does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; that defects will be corrected; that the Service or the servers delivering it are free of harmful components; or that any indexed link, source, or result is legitimate, safe, current, or functioning. Use of the Service is undertaken solely at your own discretion and risk.

07

Limitation of Liability and Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Greybox and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, nor for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your access to, inability to access, or use of the Service or of any third-party resource it references — whether based in contract, tort, strict liability, or any other theory, and whether or not Greybox has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it shall be limited to the greater of the amount you paid, if any, to Greybox in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Greybox and its contributors from and against any and every claim, demand, action, loss, liability, cost, and expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your breach of this Disclaimer, or your infringement of any third-party right.

08

Intellectual Property and Takedown Procedure

Greybox respects intellectual property rights and expects its visitors to do the same. If you are a rights holder, or an agent acting on their behalf, and believe that material indexed or referenced by the Service infringes your copyright, submit a notice through the Contact page containing all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed (or, if multiple works are covered, a representative list).
  2. Identification of the specific URL or URLs on the Service where the material appears or is referenced, so that it can be located.
  3. Your contact details — full name, organisation if applicable, email address, and telephone number.
  4. A statement of good faith that the disputed use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder.

Valid notices are reviewed promptly and the relevant links or references removed. Greybox also maintains a policy of restricting access for repeat infringers. Submitting a materially false or misleading notice may expose you to liability.

09

User Responsibilities and Eligibility

You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater, to use the Service. You are solely responsible for confirming that your use of the Service — and of any resource it references — is lawful where you are located.

You agree that you will not, and will not attempt to:

  1. Circumvent any access control, authentication, technological protection measure, or security control of any source or of the Service itself.
  2. Use automated means (crawlers, scrapers, bots, or scripts) to extract, mirror, republish, or bulk-download the Service or its catalogue data.
  3. Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or purpose, or use the Service to impersonate any person or entity.
  4. Use the Service for any unlawful, unauthorised, or infringing purpose, or to distribute malware or malicious links.

You are responsible for your own device, software, internet connection, and data, and for all activity conducted under your connection. Greybox may suspend or block access where it reasonably believes these terms have been breached.

10

Amendments, Severability, and Governing Law

Greybox may revise this Disclaimer at any time without prior notice. The “Last updated” date at the head of this page identifies the version in force, and amendments take effect upon publication. It is your responsibility to review this page periodically; continued use after publication constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.

If any provision of this Disclaimer is held invalid, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed to the minimum extent required, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. No failure or delay in enforcing any provision operates as a waiver of that provision or of any other.

This Disclaimer shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction. Where Greybox is required to exclude liability or give notice in a specific territory, that exclusion or notice applies to the fullest extent permitted by the law of that territory.

By continuing to access Greybox, you expressly acknowledge that you have read this Disclaimer in full, that you understand it, and that you agree to be bound by it. If you are acting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
